My first post here, so first: Greetings to you all!
Picked up skiing a bit late about 5 years ago, in my mid 40s, but got hooked quite badly. Been here and there on the East Coast, Vermont, Gore, Lake Placid and the last two years twice in Zermatt, Switzerland. Usually I go for a one week (6 days of intensive skiing) at the end of February to get a good dose of adrenaline and memories but for next year, my previous trips companions bailed out and can't make it.
Looking for one or two people to join me, I was thinking to go to Sestriere in Italy and ski the 400kms+ of trails on the what's called, Milky Way (Via Lattea). Made some tentative inquiries and found accommodations for 3 people at $585 (that's $195 pp/week), ski passes are 231 Euro (about $300) for Sestriere – Sauze d’Oulx- Sansicario – Cesana – Oulx –Claviere – Montgenèvre. The only unknown is the air fare but based on my previous years experience should be able to find something at about $800-900.
Please let me know if anybody is interested in joining me and I'll privide you with more details. Thanks.
