We are a family of 5. I'm 38, wife 32, three sons ages 17, 14, and 10. We're going to Angel Fire the first week of Jan and none of us have ever been on skis or snowboard. I did a lot of water skiing and skateboarding back in my earlier years, and all of my boys do what all young boys do.....scooters skateboards, roller blade, etc.
So here's my question......My wife is skiing, and has no desire to snowboard. I think I want to ski as well, albeit my knees worry me a little as theyre not real forgiving due to several years spent chasing the rodeo dream. All of my boys want to snowboard. I've read pros and cons of ski's vs snowboard but they all seem relative to the person writing the statement. 1. Is it easier for a first timer to learn to ski, or snowboard. 2. Will my son's be better off, or have more fun, on thier first trip skiing or snowboarding. 3. will my knees hate me more for choosing skiing over snowboarding. We are all planning on taking a full days lesson on the first day, regardless of which we each choose to do.
Thanks in advance for any help or advice you can provide.
