OK I blew it. Just booked flights car hire boat sitter etc for 3 weeks in late Jan early FEB ONLY TO FIND THAT THERE IS A FILM FESTIVAL IN PARK CITY at that time GAhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I guess I can stay in an efficiency apt in Sandy Salt Lake City but up in the mountains is better karma.

Can anybody give me some suggestions as to where I can look for a studio apt/ 1 bed apt at a reasonable price with good access to the ski resorts. I will have a car so can be off the bus route.

The film festival is about 10 days. So, not your whole trip. SLC area probably won't be an issue. I would go to VRBO.com and look at SLC, Sandy, and midvale areas.

Since you'll have a car, and it sounds like you still want some mountain karma... try one of the areas near Snowbasin and Powder Mountain... at least while the festival is going on.  Condo-wise, they have great bang for the buck and Snowbasin might just be the best mountain in Utah.  It just doesn't have slopeside lodging, and doesn't get quite as much snow as the Cottonwoods.

Areas in VRBO would be:

Snowbasin

Powder Mountain

Huntsville

I've never stayed at any of the places personally, but likely will someday.

Sundance is January 17-27. It's a little crazy several days before the festival, but everyone scurries for home right after it's over, so depending on when you arrive the festival might not affect you at all.

I am arriving on the 21st of Jan for 3 weeks and my goal is to ski most or all of the local resorts in the three weeks I will be there.

I guess I can look in Eden for something but would like to here from anyone who can suggest an alternative esp. one that keeps the cost down.

There is a Studio 6 right off I-215 which I think has longer term rates and in which you would have a kitchen. Location is convenient to the Cottonwoods and not too bad for the Park City areas.
