Here's one from Alta- according to the Powder Hound's guide:
"Perla's chute begins below the corniced east side of Baldy Peak. Initial moderate pitch funnels into steep, very narrow chute through rocks.
In best coverage a straight fall line may exist through rocks at left center. Uncontrolled fall in first portion very serious due to exposure to rock cliffs below."
Two seasons ago, with all that snow, this looked very good, filled in. It's steeper in person than it looks here. None of my usual crew were around, So I tagged along on the hike up with some sponsored athletes- just kids. The first, a girl, dropped the cornice at an angle and nailed sweet, tight turns down the bowl in about four inches of fluff over pretty stiff wind buff, then on through the pinch to the deep powder below. The next guy made three big sweepers, hit the pinch, and launched off the rock to the left and below onto upper Ballroom. He'd scoped it before. The third guy, who's tracks are in the foreground, simply hucked the cornice, made one giant turn bottoming just above the cliff edge,(not visible on the right), disappeared through the gap and was gone. It was breathtaking. I skied it like the girl.
