I don't know, yes, this site is male-dominated, as is the sport, but I don't see the testosterone here as being that huge of a deal. Some guys act like turkeys, but not the majority. It's not that difficult to ignore the crap, imo. Unfortunately, most women do that by leaving, I guess.
And LF, I don't really spend that much time in the technical discussions (I only lurk, anyway), and when things get ... uh... heated, I find it more comical than anything. But then again, I'm not engaged, so it's not my ox being gored. Paul Jones is correct that the number of women who care about that stuff is even lower than the number of women who care about skiing, which again is lower than the number of men. It's just how it is. There are a few such discussions on SkiDiva, but few and far between, and I imagine not terribly satisfying. :-) My theory about sports on the internet was always just to put on my big boy pants and go play, and take my lumps, and expect that everything will be male-oriented.
