Shaq, Kobe, Payton, Malone and a cast of what might be a pretty darn good bench.

"Wanna run?"

Sounds like the all-ego team to me. Who will be leaving the Lunkers?

Not like anyone outside of L.A. actually liked the Lakers before, but now that they have made themselves the Yankees of the NBA it is just another reason to hate them.

As Georgie of The Apple might say, ain't about being liked, it's about winning. Now GET OUT OF THE WAY, buhWAHaHAHAHAHA...

Samaki Walk-on, for one, better get them bags packed, 'cause he's taking his weakarss, "ooh, I'm scared of goin' strong to the hoop" elsewhere. Might fit in with that OTHER team that "plays" at Staples.

I have no respect for a loser like Steinbrenner who complains when opposing pitchers pitch inside. Apparently he doesn't know enough about baseball to know that home plate has an inside half. He probably could just ask Clemens if he really wanted to. All he seems to want to do is spend money for rings. A jewelry store is a cheaper option there. Why New Yorkers support a team whose owners charges them to watch on TV is absurd.

I'm a Red Sox fan. I basically can't stand Steinbrenner. He's a bombastic boor. I'm surprised more of his employees don't suggest to him in no uncertain terms to shove it where it's always dark. As for Roger, he's a coward in my book. Put that phkr in the Nat'l League, where he has to stand in with a bat in his hands and let him try the crap he pulls. Wouldn't be long before he got a ball in his earhole.

So, we agree, sorta. My point about George the Gorge was he didn't make the rules, he uses them.

Also, Lakers aren't buying a run at the ring here, not like you're suggesting. Payton and Malone could have gotten TONS more money to play elsewhere. Malone, for example, is playing for a bit over a million this year; last year he made 19.2 mill. They want rings.

Hey, don't count out my Blazers. You never know, they might attend drug rehab' and finally play to their potential.

Blazers, the most appropriately (nick-)named team in the history of sports.

I see Damon Stoudamire got nabbed AGAIN (three's a charm?) trying to get an ounce-and-a-half through Tucson Int'l.

There's no way that the Lakers are going to gel as a team. It was bad enough watching the power struggle between Kobe & Shaq. Now you have to add Malone to the mix. It seems more like a recipe for disaster, adding all these egos to one team for an entire season. (They do poorly enough in the all star game).
