I'm a blues and blacks kind of guy, and my home slope is Snowshoe, WV. I've been skiing for a couple years now, and the only time I've been out west was in late Dec last year to A-Basin. (It was hardpack/ice while I was out there... certainly could have been better.) I ski on 2011 K2 A.M.P. Chargers at home, all groomers, and bumps are tough for me. (I had a taste of them at Bromley last season, and I'm definitely not good at them yet.)
I'm planning a trip to Winter Park in March, and I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to bring my skis. I imagine I'll be skiing mostly blue/blue-black during the week-long trip. (I'm a quick learner and adjust pretty easily to new challenges.) I'd like to experience as much sidecountry/powder as I can manage, but I really don't know what I'll be getting into.
Should I plan on renting, or would the Chargers be okay? A lot of the reviews I've read have given the Chargers pretty good marks in powder, but it doesn't seems designed/recommended for powder use.
