Ski movie from the early nineties?

Hi,

I'm looking for some help tracking down the title of an old ski movie.

A group of us used to watch it on VHS when we lived in Fernie 10 years ago but it was probably from the early nineties.

Vague description: it was about 2 guys who talked about how totally radical they were at skiing and then went out and skied some pretty cool terrain.

We thought the 2 guys were hilarious and the ski technique was fun to watch.

Sorry for not giving you much to go on but any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Yeah, Aspen Extreme reminds me that I'm not really core unless I sleep in a van and/or caboose. :)

I have Aspen Extreme on DVD. LOVE IT. And love the liberties Dumb and Dumber took to pay homage to it.:)

I think it was called Vagabond Skier. Loved the old ski films, got me pumped up to ski and try new stuff.  Nothing better than Aspen Extreme and Hot Dog though. I saw them filming the Chinese downhill at Squaw valley for Hot Dog. I do remember seeing one big 8-10 person crash.

The only ski movie I've probably ever watched was, Ski School, starring Dean Cameron. That is an awesome movie.

Aspen Extreme is a mustwink.gif  I recommend Hot Dog as welleek.gif...oh, and Downhill Racer with a very young Robert Redford is also cool...and then there's Better off Dead with John Cusacksmile.gif

I watched ski patrol for the first time in many years off of netflix a few nights ago, and was impressed with the skiing sequences.  Like Hot Dog, the actual quality ski footage is stuck between a lot of hammy acting, but there is some very good footage of guys really going balls out.

However, I don't think any theatrical hollywood movie has captured ski scenes better than Aspen Extreme.

Yeah...Aspen's good. It took a LOT of heat early on (it is cheesy, the anathema of any 90's movie! ), but it's amazing nowadays how many skiers I know  (many of whom weren't even born when it came outeek.gif) who really love the movie! It "captures" the essence of the old school idea of the Ski Bum (may he or her r.i.pwink.gif)

P.s. Scott Schmidt friggin' skiing a waterfall I'd be too chicken sh*t to climb...AWESOME
