With the Ducks of Anaheim trying to follow the Angels footsteps into a championship season, I got to wondering about a bit of trivia. How many times has any city been able to claim major league teams that are champions of their respective sports at the same time? For example; if the Ducks win the Stanley Cup, Anahiem will be able to claim two champions in the same year: the World Series champion Angels, and the Stanley Cup champion Ducks (doesn't that have a strange ring to it?). I would guess that New York must have more than a few times that the Yankees have been champ's and either the Giants, Jets, Knicks, or Rangers also held their trophys, but I can't think of any times that was the case. Anybody know?
