Very nice. Looking at Alta webcams, looks like it's still dumping. Cannot complain. Like it when actual storm totals exceed estimates.

Getting antsy to ski. 1-2 ft here at my house in the valley and still snowing.

What kind of terrain should we expect to see open (and how much) next weekend with all the new snow?

They'll have the groomers open for sure, Mambo & Main Street, etc. But who knows? We've skied all of Rustler Ridge in early November before, everything off Hi T. Check in on Friday...

P.S.: got 14" -  16" in town at Park City.

Yes, I'm quite curious about how much terrain is expected to be open. I'm considering a quick road trip in about a week -- would be very interested in any info about projected openings in order to decide whether to come or not. beercheer.gif

Did a few laps up the road this morning, really great snow!  Nowhere near the 4' Alta is reporting, but a good foot + & very skiable :)

Back home & getting a little more lake effect snow now.

Every once in a while work commitments sync pretty well with the ski obsession.  smile.gif   Flying into Salt Lake City in 24 hours for an IT conference taking place this week at the Salt Palace Center.   Will be skiing the opening days of Alta and Snowbird, Friday-Sunday.  The Brutus storm appears to have LCC primed for a nice start to the season!

Trying to figure out which skis would be best to bring on United:  either the Volkl RTM 84s or the Skilogik Chariots (101 mm underfoot).   Do any of the local Bears have a suggestion as to which might be best for Alta conditions/open terrain this Friday (November 16)?   If it is a tossup, I'll pack the Chariots....

Many thanks!   Excited to get this year's season underway with something other than WROD...

Chariots. Weather should stay cold and Alta's closed to uphill traffic- no skinners tracking things up.

I thought we'd be lucky to get two feet, so I'm pretty happy. There's also a teeny tiny eensy weensy chance of another weather event (afraid to say the S word) next weekend. Just sayin'. rolleyes.gifsnowfalling.gif

Thanks.  Got them packed and am off to O'Hare early in the morning.   Notice that Snowbird has moved their opening day for some of the Gad Valley lifts up to Thursday.

Skied up at Brighton today, great conditions for mid-November.  The groomers were rippin' and still a good bit of soft snow around.
