Break width

I am planning in getting a pair of skis with a 108mm waist. I am looking at the Salomon STH 12 or 14 driver for bindings. 12 din should be plenty and the color would match better but the break width is only 100mm, its 115mm on the STH 14. Would a shop be able to make the 100mm wide break fit the 108mm wide ski and would it affect performance? I have not been able to find a separate wider break to get for the STH12.

Thanks

A brake width of 100 mm can easily be bent to 108+ mm by a ski tech who knows what he is doing.

I talked to a few shops and they do NOT bend breaks. It is a liability so they do not do it. Wanted to let everyone know what I found.

Did you talk to salomon to see if the sth 14 breaks would fit the sth 12? Maybe you can get a spare with them. Too bed shops won't bend the braks for you

Plenty of DYI info; here, TGR, newschoolers, youtube.

Iy your not handy or don't know a handy person then a local meal worker coud do it easily. Of course, they will charge for the service so you may as well buy a wide set.
