is a great deal on juniors ski's worth it for small adult?

Thread Starter

There's a great deal on some juniors skis on The Clymb this week, and I'm wondering if they will suit my skiing needs...

I am a 22 year old 5'3" female, 105lbs, and already have to wear kids boots b/c of small feet.  I have been skiing recreationally since I was a kid (going a couple of times a year), and would consider myself an intermediate skier (i'm not trying to push things toooo hard).

Both adult and junior skis are on sale (see here http://www.theclymb.com/brand-event/2723/Klint-Skis) but the juniors are a little cheaper and I'm a broke graduate student, so am always trying to save what I can...

thoughts?  Thanks!

Welcome to EpicSki!  Where do you usually ski?  Have you bought skis before?

I'm 5'0", 115 pounds, size 7 street shoes.  Have read of a few situations where junior skis worked for petite lightweight women.  You might check out this thread discussing ideas for petite women.

If you are worried about money, you could easily buy a pair of last years top of the line skis used at a ski swap for under $100 with bindings.  Should be able to find some for $75 with bindings easy.  And yes you will find some in your size.  You are not that small for a female.  Ski swaps are on now.
