Silver Mt. ? - Page 2

Thanks for the note. I missed that story.

Still no information on the auction results and no transfer of ownership from what I can tell.

In other news, Lookout's expansion to Eagle Peak is still 2-3 years out. Now 14 trails and a single mile-long chairlift vs 11 trails and 2 chairs on previous plans I've seen.. However, they plan to build an additional lodge with overnight rooms next summer.

Anyone going to Brewsfest on Aug 3rd?

Seemed like October on the mountain for Brewsfest.. Clouds covering the peaks and temperatures in the 60's.

Latest is: No sale, business as usual next season.

Sounds to me like Jeld-Wen couldn't settle on a buyer and wants to hold on for a bit now to recoup some investment (probably timed as the economy and real estate recovers).

(Nothing official from the resort yet)

Yes. Jim from Peak Travels has been doing some work for them and just played there this past week.

Golf?!!

But.........is it snowing yet?

Quick update.. Apparently Silver is cutting two more runs for this winter. Hopefully in previously un-skiable areas (like Bootlegger) and not spoiling any stashes. ;)

Aw, we went home the other way (through Paradise) so we wound up playing the Elks at Sandpoint. It's not very fancy but we enjoyed it.

Mike, I,m hearing that one of the new runs is between Rendevous and North Face Glades and I think the other is between Bootlegger and Moonshine.

Cool, good locations.. but fingers crossed it's not near Snakepit and closer to Rendevous. Should be steep enough in there for a double black:

Good stuff thanks.  We (mostly me!) use to hike from the old lodge to the top many mornings just to turn the lift on when our only Thiokol was broken down.  Skiing over here (Crystal) already on decent coverage for this time of year.

I can remember many years in the '70s driving a bare road up to the old lodge and dust in the parking lot  Thanksgiving week.  And not being able to open yet for lack of snow.   Silver in light snow conditions gives real meaning ot the term "rock" skis :)

For anyone who cares....probably like....nobody :D, that's Vanilla Gorilla in the upper right hand corner of this map. Look for Vanilla G putting up trip reports and new video at the Peak Travels web page. He's taking over for me since I'm retiring out of ski filming....or being a quitter, according to him.

I would call it semi-retirement.
