After knee surgery on Friday, I'm taking it easy today. Today was warm and sunny with temperatures about 80 degrees F, so I limped around the back of the pool and picked some ripe tomatoes and peppers in the garden and skimmed some leaves out of the pool. Things are about to change.
Earlier last month, I interviewed for a corporate management position and it now appears I will put on my best navy suit and relocate to work on the Point in Pittsburgh PA across the river from Heinz Field...yep! Dawntawn!. I have heard the region is geographically challenged for skiing, but what it lacks in elevation, it more than makes up for in road challenge through perpetual construction, impassible potholes and get this...they get snow and sleet on the roadways...not just in the mountains! Well, last year, I rode the motorcycle most of the winter in the Sierra anyway.
In truth I'd be returning to my family home where my daughter is going to school, and a to good career opportunity for myself. It's not about the skiing, but I've had a great time meeting with friends in PA and making the most of it. So Roundturns, Laurel Hill Crazie, Telerod and others...Let's get ready to rumble. It looks like my quiver will work better back there anyway .
If things move forward as they appear to be now, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the Stowe Gathering this year and skiing at all these places I've never been before.
