help with skis- keep current 94's or get new 105's

Hello!

I have the opportunity to pick up some new Line Influence 105’s in 178 and don’t know if I should pull the trigger or not.

Me: Ski around 20 days a year, high intermediate, 100% inbounds, 3 days of previous powder skiing, 240lbs, 5’8”, Salomon mission 12 fitted boots, current skis are 170’s rossi s86 for skiing with wife and kids.

Situation: two years ago I picked up a used pair of Dynastar Sultan 94’s in 178 at the end of the year with the plan of using them last year for new snow days. I never got the chance to use them last year due to work and injuries coinciding with the new snow days. So this pair is ready to go right now.

Intent: I need something bigger than the Rossi’s for new snow and got the Dynastar’s for this purpose. I can’t afford to have both skis so if I go with the 105’s I have to sell the Sultans. With this carrot dangling in front of me, do I stick with the Dynastar’s or go for the fatter skis?

This intermediate skier needs your help.

Thanks,

Jeff

I ski at Bogus Basin & Brundage in Idaho.

Personally I like a 105 most days in the NW. I feel like you would actually better off on a 186.

FWIW when looking for a 105 ski that had the specs I was looking for. I chose the Line 105.

I think it's a real user friendly ski that can be had for great deals right now.

Well I just found out I am going to be a grandfather for the 1st time so the extra money for bindings and mounting just became a child’s car seat and baby shower gifts.

That’s ok because the Sultans are ready to go after a fresh coat of wax.

Here is hoping for a great season.

Thanks for your help ecimmortal.

Jeff
