Rocker 2 90 or 92

Thread Starter

I'm desperately in need of some advice as I have been debating which skis to get for a long time.

I originally had a much longer list of possibilities, but now I have narrowed it down to just 2 skis:The Salomon rocker 90 and the Salomon rocker 2 92.

I have been researching for a while, but now when it actually comes down to buying them, I am at the difficult part.

I currently spend most of my time on piste, 50/60%, but I am starting to venture into the off piste and park scenes. In a year or two I imagine that I will much more of a park skier.

I'm 6'0, 150 pounds and an advanced skier.

As I'm mostly a piste skier at the moment, I am leaning towards the Salomon rocker 90, but I don't know how they will perform in the park.

Thank you and any suggestions much appreciated.

The 90 is without doubt the better of the two for groomed, harder snow, choppy crud. The 90 does have a pretty good kicktail so it's serviceable in the park but it is pretty directional. The 92 would be better in the park and probably in lighter snow of some depth but worse in everything else.Your choice here is dependent upon your priorities.

I forget which magazine it was but they made a big deal about the Rockette 90 but no mention of the Rocker 2 90...and I just wondered if the Rockette 90 was so fantastic if that automatically meant the Rocker 2 90 was as well...even if it was hardly mentioned? Perhaps there are too many good men's skis in that category and it was was not mentioned, not because it's bad, but because there are so many skis in that all mountain category that may be fractionally better?

It's high on my list of "next skis I'm going to buy"...but that list hasn't been shrunk down from 5 yet. Good thing I don't have the money yet - hopefully I'll have decided when the funds come available.
