Best Swiss Resort for Late March/Early April

Thread Starter

I am planning a snowboarding trip for Late March/Early April.

I am an expert snowboarder and most interested in Powder, off-piste runs, and snow quality this late in the season.

I am wondering which resort would be the best/most likely to still have powder days at this time in the season.

Cost is not that much of an issue, mostly I'm just trying to figure out which resort (glacier v. non-glacier) would be my best chance of getting good snow.

Thanks,

John

Saas-Fee would be my recommendation for that late in the season. If you're willing to try France, I'd recommend Tignes/Val d'Isere.

If you're willing to move the trip to early March, you'll have a lot more options for good snow throughout the Alps and you'll avoid the Easter crowds.

Engelberg...

Saas Fee great snow but limited off piste/ expert terrain. Engleberg is a gem. Zermatt is aso worth considering. I don't know how you are with your budget but Switzerland has become very expensive again in the last 5 years after being quite reasonable in the early 2000s. If you're flexble I'd agree with CV and consider France. Where are you arriving?
