what surprised me about all this is how the angels were seen as such obvious no-chance underdogs. i can see this from fans who follow baseball beginning around october but i never saw ANYTHING from knowledgeable fans - especially ny beat writers - who should have known that the angels have played the yankees very tough for the past two, three years. and have themselves only gotten better. would i have favored the yankees were i the one laying the line? yes, you'd almost have to, regardless of feeling or hunch, but no way was this ever about david and goliath.
anyway, props to jeter; the guy always shows up when it $$$.
