question about tecnica inferno blaze dual cuff alignment

Thread Starter

Just had 2012/13 Tecnica Inferno Blaze professionally fitted (including cuff alignment).  I have a question about the dual cuff alignment.

On each side of the boot, for the cuff alignment there are 3 marks (I,II,III) in a circle.

On my right boot, the medial one points to III, the lateral one points to II.

On my left boot, the medial one points to III, the lateral one points halfway between II and III.

This brings up a couple of questions/concerns for me:

1)  Can a dial appropriately be set in between two different numbers or does it have to point at one of the three settings?

2)  Reading the instruction manual, it appears to me that there are only 3 approprate settings:

a. medial and lateral pointing to II

b. medial pointing to I, lateral pointing to III

c. medial pointing to III, lateral pointing to I

Is there more to this than meets the eye?  Or does this suggest my settings need to be readjusted?

Thanks.

The lateral adjustments do not have to match. The boot fitter is trying to align the upper cuff to your leg angle. Most people are not symmetrical so the adjustments could be different. We have set people in between setting if we felt the alignment was correct. We have found no problems with the mechanism slipping or moving.
