New 1995 Men's Tecnica TNS AVS Boots Size 11 Euro 30 - Page 2

Oh wow. Don't know if this post is still active but just got a kick out of reading it. I still have a pair of these and was looking for heel replacements. Not sure it's even worth it but I love these boots. I'll give $5 for the heels. Also I'm a size 10 and my boots are 8.5. I remember the sales guy saying they run small so 11? Either your feet are huge or the sales guy put you in the wrong size. No wonder they never fit. Anyway I've experienced the 80s plastic first hand. Had an old pair of San Marcos that I took out one year after being stored in my attic which gets up to 100 degrees in the summer. The first turn I tried to make I felt like both bindings released and I face planted. When I looked at my boots they were both shattered between the first and second buckle. Hilarious! I've now had these Technica TNS for a long time and other than the heel pad breaking this year, I've definitely gotten my monies worth.

This guy (drfeelgood) knows what he is talking about!! For 15 years, off and on, I was a boot fitter in the NW and repaired many older boot models that still had life left in them. As a matter of fact my brother is in need of a heel for this particular boot right now (in 2015) and the rest of his boots are in great shape. If anyone still has a pair of the TNS AVS we would like to buy the heel and toe pads if they are in good condition. Please let me know, thanks!

Hey BumSki. I figured this post was dead but since you revived it... I posted 2 years ago trying to buy this guys boots for parts. My TNS AVS are still kicking. Offered $10 for heal and toe pads. Since he sold them I went online and bought a set of heels from Technica for a later model. The screw pattern was the same but the pads required a little work with a razor knife and sandpaper.

Not quite good as new but it worked and the TNS AVS are rockin the slopes once again.

You got rid of the AVS rubber inserts tho ;)

Ah yes. The AVS inserts were a casualty of the retrofit and if I was skiing more than 3-4 times a year maybe I'd notice it. Actually if I was skiing more than 3-4 times a year I'd buy new boots but these boots have been paired with 3 sets of skis over their lifetime and I'm still happy with them so for now I'll suffer the loss of the AVS cushion :-)
