LF: Dynastar or Look Maxflex Racing PX15 toe pieces (4 of them)

Maybe a long shot, but I am looking for cheap replacements for four (4) Dynastar/Look PX15 Maxflex toe pieces. For whatever reason goes through the head of a 15-year old, my son has been repeatedly jamming his poles into the toe pieces in order to lean on them instead of just putting them in the snow like everyone else and has gouged the toe pieces on two pairs of skis pretty bad mad.gif . The cast metal isn't all that thick there and I now wonder if the strength has been compromised to the point they should be replaced.

Anyhow, I am looking for inexpensive replacements, if just the toes, preferably the light blue Look versions to match, or if the whole bindings either the Dynastar (dark blue) or the Looks. I know there is an Ebay seller with new but I am hoping to get cheaper.

ZG, I would not worry about it. My toe pieces always used to get beat up like that when i was in Scotland and never seen a metal one fail as a result

Question: do you have surface lifts where your son trains?

That is what used to cause it for me. When riding tbars or pomas I would put my sticks in the toe piece to lean on them and relax on the ride

Thanks Ray. This was all done while he was in Switzerland on the glaciers at Saas Fee and Zermatt, so it was a combo of surface lifts and funicular. Believe it or not those were brand new bindings 7 weeks ago. Of course when asked what he was doing, the teenage answer was "I don't know what happened". He likes to lean instead of standing up. I can see a certain amount of scratches here and there, but to not to notice the damage he was doing after all the paint was scraped off, is still unacceptable to me and he knows it now. I will repalce them if I can find cheap enough replacements just because I hate looking at them like that.

Maybe I should change the ad to FS: Typical 15-year old (free, I'll pay shipping)

Addendum: I just got word from a Rossi/Dynastar rep that they are safe, but to stop doing it wink.gif

biggrin.gif  Yup!   guessed it!  Actually, I used to find that surface lifts tended to put more pressure on my feet, especially in a race boot and resting on the poles like that was a good way to reduce it.  That and I guess I was lazy as well.....smile.gif

Gotta love chairs!

Easy solution, make him buy new bindings and equipment with his own money, full price.

He'll either take care or quit, either way you spend less money (and it doesn't cost you a dime)
