Helmet Goggle Compatibility

Thread Starter

I am looking for a new pair of goggles and a helmet for this ski season and originally was going to buy the goggles and then go helmet shopping. After finding the Smith Vantage helmet I am starting to rethink that approach because the helmet is so sweet I don't think there's any other way to go.

Now to my understanding Smith started making helmets to go with their goggles, and I have seen good reviews about them meshing together. However most of their goggles are a bit too pricey for me.

For anyone who has the Vantage helmet, what goggles are you wearing with it? Spy, Dragon, Anon, etc? How do they fit?

The particular goggles that I was looking at are the Spy Platoon and Marshall. Just looking for some conformation.

Thanks

you can buy both the vantage and a good smith goggle at STP, if you use a coupon 35% which is all over the place you won't beat the price. I got smith goggles for me and wife for about $50 at STP last season. Now they have the vantage helmet as well.

I use a prophecy goggle with transport helmet and I have nothing bed to say about the combo.

I have that helmet as well as the Variant. Tried Anon, Oakley, Smith, Spy, Electric, and POC...

Smith is obviously a great fit and I agree with mfa81, they are not hard goggles to find cheap. You can also try Sierra Trading Post, use a coupon and they should come in on the cheap.

Oakley is a great fit but I have recently soured on the brand as their customer service can be atrocious. They would not sell me a replacement strap no matter how much money I wanted to give them.

POC would be the third on the list for me but no actual complaints.

I have the brim version but in general there are not too many bad fits to that helmet, some obviously better than others but you are pretty safe.
