Need help with ski and boot choice

Thread Starter

Hello, i need some advice.

I'm looking to buy some 2nd hand freestyle skis and boots but don't know where to start.

I've been on many skiing trips, and would say i'm intermediate to advanced, i have done quite a few red and black runs over the years but just stuck to normal rental skis.

I've decided to take my skiing one step further and attempt freestyle.

First i need to know what size skis i should get and if there is anything else to look out for with bindings etc.

Also, the same with boots, obviously not the size roflmao.gif but what type of boot should i be looking for.

Oh, and I'm 5ft 11 and weigh about 90kg.

Cheers, Adam.

Hey Adam, you need to go look for a good ski shop to buy your boots, nobody can say this or that boot is gonna be good for you, that's something only a good boot fitter can help you with. I don't recommend buying boots based on other people advice or over the web. Going to a good ski shop with a good boot fitter will pay for itself even if that's not the best price you can find!

Hi Adam,

Be careful on how you rate yourself you may get equipment that may not suit you.  Best describe the type of skiing you do, along with the number of days you ski.  Ideally a local shop will understand the hills you ski and can better judge your needs.   If you are skiing at major resorts, your local good ski shops will understand your abilities based on the resort you ski at as well.

Hopefully, you find what you want.
