Epic Members,

I just wanted to let you all know that Pow Tales are on sale again for the 2013-2014 season at 10% off for Epic Ski members. That means you only pay $17.95 per set. Shoot me a pm or send an email to powtales@cal.net and include your Epic user name to claim your discount. Don't crank your bindings up to 12 on a powder day. Ski safe and smart with Pow Tales.

Pow Tales:

  • Install on your boots in just a few minutes.
  • Safe to use. Not a leash.
  • The most user friendly powder cords you can buy.
  • Always there when you find that unexpected powder stash.
  • Easy to engage and disengage.
  • Perfect for Heli and Cat skiing.
  • Perfect if you're riding Trams and Gondolas.
  • Made in the U. S. A.

Cheers,

Bob

would not recommend to people who crash hard.  Tomahawking down a steep pitch with your skis still "tethered" is asking to get cut by your edges.

Powder Cords are not tethers....

call them whatever you like.   When something is anchored to my person via a "cord"   I call it a tether...  Honestly would much rather lose a ski until the summer than get my head lopped off by my ski edge.  But to each his own I guess.

Seen entirely too many powder cord lacerations than I would like to count in my years out here.

EDIT:    I AM A RETARD DURRRR.

GREAT IDEA BOSS!

What are they then?  Do they not tether your ski to you?  Isn't that the whole point?

This is a well-made and very useful product.  icon14.gif

They're basically like a buoy over a hidden object. Imagine a 6 foot length of ribbon tied to you binding. You then bundle up the length of ribbon and put it inside the cuff of your pants. When you release from your skis the ribbon pulls out and acts like a streamer. While your heavier ski likely will disappear beneath the snow, the ribbon of the powder cord will usually stay above the snow making it easy to find your ski after a wreck.

You don't tie the cord to your leg, you just bunch it up and store it in the cuff of your pants and it flies away from you with the ski.

EDIT: Or in the case of this product, you keep the ribbon in a little pouch that velcros to your ski boot.

So, how do we order them with the discount?

Got it - so a hard enough fall would not likely drag your skis with you.  Makes sense to me.

Exactly. So as long as you fall hard enough to pull of velcro you're fine, and if you don't fall that hard odds are the ski is not going to come flying at you like a ninja sword on a leash.

Bought a pair last year.  Well-made, well-designed product.  Of course I never actually got to try them last year....

Hi All,

I've been gone for a few days sailing on the SF Bay so I apologize for not getting an answer posted for all your questions. No, Pow Tales are definitely not a ski leash system. If you crash hard enough for your ski to disengage from the binding system the entrapped 6' of ribbon will unfurl and the remaining bit of Velcro that the ribbon is sewn to will release from its counterpart that is glued to the boot. No worries about getting a ski edge in the head. (had that happen back in the days before ski brakes and it isn't fun) If you go to my website you will find all the information you need to order, install and use this product. You can also email me at powtales@cal.net, or pm me here. Just include your Epic user name and I will give you a 25% discount on all orders.

Hi All,

I've been getting emails from people wanting to know if I'm still selling Pow Tales and wondering if the 25% discount is still happening. The answer is yes to both questions. Send me a PM or email me at sales@powtales.com and I'll hook you up with your discount. There also seems to be some confusion about how Pow Tales work. All the answers are on my website; http://powtales.com, but I would love to see some feedback from those of you who already purchased a set or two. The Tahoe area is getting hammered right now, and this is beginning to look like a great year for powder. I hope you're all going to get your white Christmas wish fulfilled.

Cheers,

Bob

Is there an offer code?  How does one take advantage of this offer?

Jim,

You can PM me here or email me at sales@powtales.com. The offer code is just your Epic user name. Include that in your email  or PM along with the number of sets you want and I'll send you a Pay Pal invoice with your order including your discount and shipping charges. If you choose to PM me I'll need an email address as well so I can send you the invoice. Thanks for your interest, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Cheers,

Bob

I used my pow tales all day yesterday!  I would have been F'd without them. Super bright orange just glowed through a couple of feet of blower.

Oldtri,

Thanks for your order, but if you order again, please write me directly at sales@powtales.com. Epic members who want the 25% discount should avoid ordering through my website. I can't process the discount that way. Just send me your Name, address, Epic username, and what you want in your order and I'll sent you an invoice back through Pay Pal. Sorry, but it's the only way I can process the discount using Pay Pal.

Finndog,

Thanks very much for the feedback. I think you're the first to report back on a deployment of the system in "real deal" conditions.

Cheers,

Bob

hey Bob, do you ship to Australia?

Jamie,

I sell more Pow Tales internationally than I do in the U.S. We ship everywhere. Do to increases in materials cost I've had to reduce the Epic member discount to 10%, but Pow Tales are serious bang for the buck anyway. Go to my website and use the Contact Form on the Buy Now page. Submit your name, address, # of sets desired, and Epic member handle. (user name) I'll hook you up with a Pay Pal invoice as soon as I get that info, and thanks for your interest in Pow Tales.

Cheers,

Bob
