Tahoe Lodging

Thread Starter

Making my first trip to Tahoe in February.  Have a conference at Harrah's Lake Tahoe; wondering if it's walkable to the Heavenly gondola, and if there is shuttle service to any other surrounding resorts.  We'll probably end up renting a car because we want to make it to Squaw Valley as well, but maybe not if there are other options.  Any input would be greatly appreciated!

The Heavenly Gondola is a block or two from Harrah's. Its a 5 minute walk with ski boots.

Squaw is about 45-60 minute drive from South Lake Tahoe. Contact Harrahs or Squaw about

transportation options. I would recommend going to Squaw one day. Also, Kirkwood is a 30

minute drive away. Also, Squaw bought Alpine Meadows last year which is next to it, and provides free shutteles

between resorts. Your options are endless.

Mt Rose is between SLT and Reno and could be a good option in case you plan to spend an evening in Reno.  Great area with something for everyone, and always have deals.

There are shuttles, but they may be slow or inconvenient.

By the way, Kirkwood is an hour from Heavenly/Harrah's in perfect conditions.  Depending on snow/accidents, it could be much longer.
