Break Sizes

Hi All,

Purchasing a pair of knee bindings, which come standard with 90mm breaks. My skis have a 71mm waist.

I've got the Knee Binding people telling me to get my local ski shop to order 75mm breaks for me and that that is the way to go. Local ski shop tells me the 90mm breaks will be just fine.

First time I've bought bindings separate from a pair of skis so any advice on the matter would be super helpful. Thanks in advance.

Most brakes will be fine up to 20mm wider than the skis waist. But, that said....

If they will swap them out for the 75mm brakes with NO charge than go that route.

If they say they can't then just buy a different binding wink.gif

It ia always better to have the narrowest brake possible that will fit your ski. If your current brake is 71mm then a 90mm brake will be a little too wide. you could ski it but they might get in the way at times.

+1, it can hook on/tear up your pants and stuff if it sticks out too far from the edge of the ski.
