One more size question for the Bonafides?

After doing a bunch of research and getting some advice here I have decided to pull the trigger on a new pair of 2013 Blizzard Bonafides.  I currently own 2010 Line Prophet 100's in 172 and a pair of 2012 Line Influence in 179.  I am 5' 6" and weigh 165, I am an expert skier and will be using the Bonafides in Michigan and when I take trips out west 6-10 days a year.  When in Michigan I mostly just ski bumps or I get bored.  When out west I ski steeps with bumps mostly.  Now between my 2 pair of lines I much prefer the Influence 105's in 179.  I just feel they are way more stable and I like the way they ski.  However that might just be because the style of ski it is.  I am pretty sure I am going to get the Bonafides in 180 but my local shop also has a pair in 173's.  What do you guys suggest?   If I could demo both sizes I would but am not going to have that luxury.  The guy at the shop told me the 180's would be what I should go with unless I am going to be skiing zippered bump lines which I don't really need to use the Bones on because that is what I use my Prophet 100's for.  Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks,

Chuck

180's do ski short

180 for sure.  Likely the reason your 179 influence's feel stable is because of that extra length.

I'm 5'9", 150 and I ski them in 180.  Seems fine to me.

Not to muddle the water even more for you... but...  here you go... the lighter guys seemed to respond positively to Kabookie (basically a Bonafide without metal).  I am 190lb, 6' and I love my 187 Bones, but I am on the heavy side of the equation.  I heard the lighter guys describe the Bonafide as a "truck".  BTW, if you go metal-less route, the Nordica Helen (AKA Hell&Back) is a relatively similar ski and a heck of a deal from Starthaus blemish sale now (if they still have them).   If you go Bonafide the sizes is actually a tough call if you are a bump skier.   The Bone skis short, but the shorter sizes are surprisingly stable.  I was choosing between 180 and 187 and could have gone either way.

From what you have said about liking your 179s and that you will be skiing them out west, definitely the 180s
