Dynastar Outland 87 or 80 pro?

Interested in opinions on which ski to choose.  Ski mostly in the midwest/east on hard  pack/groomed and occasionally in the west in powder/crud.  Looking at Dynastar Outland skis, either the 87 or 80 pro.  From the specs they seem to be the same ski but different geometry with the 80 narrower with a little more side cut.  Any thoughts on these skis?

My thoughts were the Outland 87 would be more versatile for western skiing and soft snow in general but the 80 pro would be better for groomed/hard pack.

Was considering the Volkl RTM 84s but am skeptical about a fully rockered ski for hard snow skiing.

As for skill level it is very high but I am aging and have partial disability so while I ski fast I do not ski bumps, trees, etc. but still like a ski that has great edge hold and some rebound energy.  The past 4 seasons I have skied Volkl Tigershark 10ft or Nordica Slalom skis on occasion. but want something more versatile.

I have skied all the skis you have mentioned and found the Outland 87 to be the most versatile. Even being a couple of MM wider than the 80, it still lays out a real nice turn. Two other skis I would put into consideration because of ties to the skis you mentioned, would be the Rossi E88, which is the same construction as the Outland but a bit more shape and the Volkl Kendo, which Volkl nailed the flex pattern on and IMHO skis with more precision than the RTM84 due to the camber underfoot.

Thanks Phil.  I am leaning toward the Outland 87.  When did you move to Reno?  My son has lived there for the past 10 years and usually skis at Mt Rose.  I was there in July and it was hot.
