Noob Question about Bootfitting and Time Required

Hi

I am visiting Whistler for five days over Christmas.

Are five days generally long enough to buy a new pair of boots and to go back for a few tweaks if necessary

Also the forum threads on Whistler bootfitters are old quite old. Any recent experiences with Whistler bootfitters?

Many Thanks!

My advice is to always buy locally if possible, that said five days should be enough time.  Can't help with Whistler fitters.

Thanks for the reply

I am in Sydney and the season here in Australia is all but over. Skiing in Whistler in December and Austria in January and I am about tired now of rental boots.

I figure not living near snow the best I can do is get the boots where I can ski for a few consecutive days and then hope I can get another bootfitter to work on them if I am still not happy.

I've heard there are a few good fitters in Whistler but I confess I don't know the names.  the time you are allowing should be enough.  Look on the first day.

i don't know any names exactly but the reports i hear coming back from whistler would suggest CanSki or McConkeys, for the latter you better book about now, i have also had great and fairly average reports about fanatyco over the past 5 years

there is probably someone a lot more local than me can answer this better, it may be worth searching threads on boot fitters in whistler in the main gear discussion or even starting a new one, yes it has been done before but boot fitters move around and the shop that was great 2 years ago may have lost their entire team to somewhere else
