Dumb Facetious Question with a Point.

Thread Starter

Just got the gear guide issue of Ski and Skiing magazine. (don't ask).

It is clear from what is written that my then highly regarded two year old skis are no longer worthy. Never mind that my (un-named) skis were one of the best to be had. That was two seasons ago. One could do anything and go anywhere on said skis. But sadly such is no longer the case. It would seem that due to global warming or some other factor my (un-named) skis have become obsolete. Maybe if I recalibrated my poles that would help. Nothing was mentioned about the need for this year's poles.

Am looking for advice.

Sincerely,

Nothing new. I remember well when my K2 Axispro's went from one type of ski to another, and had completely different attributes even though K2 hadn't changed a thing.

Well... duh, it's called marketing.  What do you want to hear?  Have there been some great skis produced over the past two seasons?  Yes.  Were there great skis produced before then?  Of course.

It makes more sense to add a new ski that is different from what you already have, otherwise hold tight, right?

Dear Mr5150. Your choice to have your poles properly calibrated shows you indeed know your stuff . Follow your heart in this one and keep giving those old, obsolete, 2 year old skis the love they need. Also consider dumping them at a fair deal and invest in those life changing ,brand spanking new in plastic bombproof powder carvers.
