Full Tilt Classic flex question

Thread Starter

looking at getting a pair of Full Tilts this year, have used the Flexons in the past and  my question is are the FT Classic[ #6 tongue] the same as the Flexon standard tongue, mine are the black and green ones. I tried on a pair of FT drop kicks[#4 tongue] and they felt much softer, they also have the wrap around liner vs standard tongue liner my Flexons have, not sure if that effects flex much. Thanks

Suggest searching at TGR, recall a thread over there comparing Full Tilts and Dalbellos, lot of stuff on flex and tongues and such. Or post this here in the Boot forum.

The standard tongue is a 6.

I've been on FT camo's since 2008 and have often considered messing with stiffer tongues.

Do you feel the #6 doesn't give you enough stiffness on ice or hard snow conditions?

For the past several years during the month of January we usually have dust on crust or boilerplate type ski conditions.  This is usually when I feel the need for more stiffness but I'm also on narrower skis and usually on the fast groomers.   For decent to excellent snow conditions and wider boards the 6 flex is great.  The 6 is also nice for moguls. I'm not much of a park guy other than when my son drags me through there but they seem to work well there too.

Here is my take on them:

4- mush
6- standard / go to for early & late season
8- perfect 99% of time
10- for the Big Boys

Also of note, while the boot is the same, the new materials & liner make them much less of a torsional noodle!

I recall my flexons being just terrible on ice & twisty in every direction. Not so much w the new ones!

The cult following is real! biggrin.gif

Thanks. Good news about the new materials and improved ice hold. I've had 3pair of Flexons and to be honest thought they held real well on the ice[mid west]. These were my race boots for years and just for the heck of it used them a few times last year and now want a new pair.

I have the Konflict, #8 tongue, and agree that it's perfect for 99% of the time. I have no desire for a new boot, this will be my 3rd year on these.
