We're planning a ~three week trip to BC next February, and I wanted to check with you what your input is on our itinerary.
I'm an intermediate skier, but not much into diving into the most difficult terrain. My husband, however, is an avid skier and is super excited about doing the Powder Highway.
We're spending a week in Sun Peaks, where we've been several times and love. Then the idea is to rent a car in Kamloops and drive to Revelstoke for up to two days, followed by Kicking Horse, then another mountain, which we can't decide-Fernie (is it too far?), or Banff (we've been there before).
Anyway, my questions are:
1. With my level of skiing (not comfotable with moguls or much powder, as I have skinny skis) will Revy and KH be too challenging and almost an unpleasant experience? Are there runs in each where I'll be able to just enjoy myself, at ease, in blue and black groomed runs?
2. Is driving (no rush, daytime) from Kamloops to Revelstoke, then to KH, then further, to either Banff or Fernie a dangerous, unadvised plan? We have not much experience driving in winter conditions, how is Rogers Pass on a sunny day, is it an issue?
3. We have to end our trip inVancouver. What would you do in terms of itinerary, as we want to cover some of this beautiful area, have 10-12 days to do it, and are open to including/excluding mountains from our plans (Revy, KH, Fernie, Red, Whitewater, Banff).
