U.S. Ski Team endorsed. barely used Skier's Edge alpine downhill skiing trainer conditioner machine. All components in good working condition. Belt--the high wear piece--has no cracks or other signs of wear. Includes stability poles and "Black Diamond" accessory platform. This machine is at least 10 yrs. old. Although I used consistently when I first got it (used from a friend), the last few years my workout time has been consumed by rehab-specific p.t. and it has sat idle. Blurb from their webpage below pic. Shipping will be a piece of change, it's heavy and big.
More than 26 years ago the Skier's Edge was designed as a non-impact lateral conditioning machine. After years of playing football and numerous knee surgeries, doctors told the creator and inventor of the Skier's Edge he should no longer run to stay in shape. He looked for a way to safely strengthen his knees, get a great aerobic workout, and be in top condition to ski each season free of pain. After searching in vain for the right equipment and exercises, he developed the Skier's Edge. Upon showing the unit to doctors and physical therapists, he was encouraged to introduce it to the public. Initially supplying only the U.S. Ski Team, the Skier's Edge Company has since become the exclusive official supplier to the world's best ski teams.
"The US Ski Team has been using the Skier's Edge World Cup Plyometric Power year round as part of our race program. We have learned that the athletes are able to develop the anaerobic system in a very progressive way while using these sport specific components. The high intensity that the athletes are able to produce on the Skier's Edge World Cup Plyometric Power develops the anaerobic system very effectively. Overall, we see the Skier's Edge as a great tool for preparing our athletes for the intense load involved in ski racing."
