Which of these two skis would work better in deep untracked snow in high alpine terrain (wide open bowls/glaciers)? Are these skis a good choice for an intermediate/low end advanced skier? A friend of mine is looking for this type of ski and i decided to ask this knowledgeable the community. Thank you!

Personally I think the s7 does better in powder, but that's me. Some people prefer the chetler especially if you ride switch and some people hate the pin tail on the s7's. You really need to demo them to decide.

How big is your friend?  I'm not that big, but I have mad skills and I ski the 183 bent for my tree ski.  Out the open, the 183 would be too short for me?

I've also noticed that lot's of younger, less skilled skiers seem to be in the back seat on 5 point design skis?  Is it because they are so easy to ski and they never really learned proper technique?

In general, yes. To Sergey, both the skis you mention are quite forgiving so are popular with a wide range of skiers and ski abilities.

He's around 5'10'' and 180lbs. Advanced Intermediate.

Also, actually at the moment hes torn between the two skis - 183 Bent chetler and the Rocker2 122 in 184. Not much info about these two skis at the moment when comapred to each other.

Does anybody know what the main difference between these two would be?

Thansk!
