This thread reminds me of my internal debates about how I start a carved turn.
I talk about this stuff a lot with my skiing buddy who is a retired PSIA tech examiner.
I once thought my turns started in my feet an worked up to my torso.
Sometimes I think the turns start simultaneously in several parts of my body.
Currently, I'm thinking I really start my turn when my eyes switch focus to the next apex.
I can't say with any certainty that I really understand skiing at all from a physics viewpoint (and I have a PhD in engineering).
But it sure is fun when it works well.
