I have been reading these amusing reports alI season, and felt this one deserved to be shared.
Good morning and welcome to the Mount Olympus snow report for Sunday the 9th of September.
We are open today but under a few conditions which you need to be aware of.
We have had 20-30cms of new snow overnight which should be skiing extremely well, the last 6 hours has brought
some light to moderate winds which will have effected this snow especially up high which will have brought some avalanche
hazard which we will be working to mitigate this morning, please be aware that not all terrain will be open due to this.
Over the last 48 hours we have had some huge electrical storm action which has caused widespread damage across the
mountain including the screen I am typing this on so please excuse any spelling mistakes. As a result of this we have lost out
learners tow and our main tow is only able to operate at half speed but on the plus side the powder will last twice as long
and it is a very social tow ride now.
The road is fairly well buried so a high clearance 4WD with chains on all four wheels is required, please do not attempt it
in your leone or mum's corrola or anything else as you will get stuck and ruin it for everyone behind you. We will be working
to clear the road but do not expect this to be completed before the end of the day. And on a roaring note we do expect to see
you bright and early for birthday pow turns bright and don't worry you can take the bridge instead of the ford here at Olympus.
Thats it thats all for today, an epic pow day ahead for those prepared and equipped for it we look forward to seeing you up here. Moderate NW winds at present with continuing snow showers, snow expected to continue throughout the day with wind easing late in the day.
