My understanding from boot reps is a 25.5 is a 26 with changes (maybe your tighter sewing or maybe extra material) to the liner to make it fit tighter.

Those boot reps are incorrect. In the world of alpine boots, 25.5 and 26.0 are different shells.

Question somewhat on topic:  I have Salomons with system bindings.  When I take them into shops to get the bindings torque-checked, I've encountered shops that won't work on them.  They don't have the special equipment, or something.  I've been told that their equipment works on other bindings but it won't work with the Salomon bindings.

What's that all about?

back on the sketchiness of skiuniverse.com topic:

my ridiculously good deal on bindings finally came through.

ordered FF14's for $65, $75 shipped, on sept 13.

silence, after the initial order confirmation.

as of sept 24, status was "awaiting fulfillment"

sent a grumpy email - no response via email.

sept. 29 - response via brown box on the doorstep - bindings received.

next time i'll use a credit card, not paypal, but  can't really complain at this point.  you get what you pay for at least in the customer service dept.  (and a hell of a lot more, on the actual product).

I swapped mine out for these:

Are you talking about those Salomon Pilot bindings that ride on a plate bolted to the sidewalls of the ski?

Received my SkiUniverse order today.  Everything arrived in good shape.  It sucks that the Railflex bindings don't include the plate, but I've been through that before and had forgotten that the plate isn't included.  The poles are amazing for the money.  Glad they came through for me.

Once you have figured out what din you want whatever binding you choose you need to either find one that is aproximately 3mm between the toe and the heel. If you go with a marker binding you may want to double check that math as most are up to a 7mm delta and would therefore require a shim under the toe of the binding. Further if the binding is being mounted on a flat deck  stabalizing the heel with a neutral cap greatly reduces unecessary wabble therefore allowing you better response. All of the aforementioned matters more than what manufacturer you choose!

Have you skied the bushwackers yet? I just bought the 173s for east coast trees/bumps, but wondering if I should have got the 180s. I'm 200lbs. And 6'1"
Thanks. :-)
