Turns out Wintergreen was bought by the owner of The Greenbrier golf resort and The Resort at Glade Springs, both in WV.  Glade Springs is the upscale resort that is near Winterplace.  They are planning some major upgrades at Wintergreen, including lots more water for snowmaking.  Work starting this fall.

More details coming out about the snowmaking improvements for Wintergreen.

If I read it correctly, the snowmaking capacity on the Highlands will double.  They want to do more snowmaking at night and less when the slopes are open.

There were pictures of the new 5 million gallon water tank on the W'green Facebook page.  Wonder where they put it?

This week will be the first test of Wintergreen's new snowmaking water tank.  Had 160 snow guns going according to the mountain blog.  Have hopes of opening within a week of having no snow anywhere on the slopes.  Target is Dec. 26.
