Old School Expert very confused looking for a fatter side country ski

Just got the Mantra Last year, and am very stoked on it. I want a fatter ski for those epic days and for my trips back home. I am 6'0" 230lbs and dropping weight currently. As I have in my title I am an expert skier though I stay out of the bumps these days unless they are powdery ones. I am looking for a ski that I can use as a back/side country ski. I thought I had the choice narrowed down to one ski and then just before I pulled the trigger I read the reviews. That ski is the Katana, it's everything that I want in a ski except I keep reading the negatives of its durability. At 230lbs and being pretty aggressive I am concerned. Can anyone set my mind at ease on these skis or should I get the ESP from 4frnt and mount my dukes on them? I'm skiing this years Lange Super Blaster that was gifted to me last season by the rep. I live in the North East and love the mantra so what would the other more educated on ski design guys or gals send me for that side country ski?

Well I guess my question was not worth the time of others, so I popped for the Katanas . Can any one let me know about my choice I know they rock but do they really delam quickly or is that something guys are experiencing from 100 plus days and using them as their daily drivers?

It usually takes a few days for folks to log in and see your questions.

Be patient.

Usually delamination is a warranty item if the ski is less than one year old. After that , epoxy and C clamps work well.
