Don't know why I didn't volunteer this the first time, but now that the thread is resurrected, here goes:
Overrated: Mt. Baker
Most years (not this one) Mt. Baker has LOTS of snow. Nobody else comes close. That's fortunate, because a great deal of the stuff is crap, what I like to call "white rain." It's OK if you live in the area because if the conditions are awful one moment, they can be legendary in a few hours. Just pick your time. If you have a job or anything to do other than ski, however, that choice is made more difficult.
Yes, the terrain is incredible and the OB goes on nearly forever, but the hordes of bro-bras with attitudes make a day at the mountain sometimes a less than pleasant experience. The "core" attitude is so thick you can cut it with a knife. Old farts like me are pretty much ignored by the employees who are focused on their breaks so they can do some shredding. I've seen online reviews which have mentioned that the employees are really friendly, but this has not been my experience. Some are, more aren't.
It's true that there is NO commercialism, no 1% B.S., it's really a duct tape empire, but it's insufferably smug as well.
If you are in the area, want decent customer service, better snow, and equally great terrain, ski Stevens Pass, but only on weekdays.
