I'm a ski writer putting together an article on the world’s best “emerging” ski towns. A previous story of mine covered the world’s classic ski towns — now it’s time to pick the up-and-comers, the newly improved or newly discovered, or just the great ski towns that for whatever reason haven't gotten the press they deserve.
Revelstoke and Silverton are a couple of obvious choices. The town must have great skiing and be an actual town, not just a resort development.
Doesn’t just have to be a resort town — backcountry skiing can be the dominant skiing in the area. I’m focusing on North America, but may include more far-flung towns as well.
Happy to hear any and all suggestions. Hoping this group might have some good ideas.
