You guys! I wait and wait for pictures then you post a slew of good ones all at once.
Keep 'em coming. I love it when you keep me busy.
I don't know what the regulations are in Alaska, but if that triple outboard motor boat had been that close to whales in Canadian waters, that would have been a whale watching violation.
Having paddled a kayak in Johnstone Strait, I'm aware of that, and I asked about it.
They don't approach closer than 100 yards, but if the whales (humpbacks in this case) approach closer after the boat is shut down, they don't start it back up again to run away. They just sit there.
Also, because these are humpbacks, they're quite a bit larger than the boats, unlike orcas.
Then why do you allow your kids to hug these sticky things? Isn't clean up kind of gross?
Im hiking up mt werner (steamboat) tomorrow Am to check out the new Lodge at Four Points. Pics to follow! I also bought a tripod to use for my weather pics. Going to see how my old Rebel (8megapixel) digital does for this.
Nice. We also need some pics from Peak 6 at Breck and the other ski area improvements happening this summer!!
It's a really nice personal stoke for skiing to get up on your mountain late in the summer or fall. I'm still feeling the nice rocky mountain high this morning after being up there yesterday. Makes me wonder how much of my love for skiing and mountain biking is just being up in the mountains, as the ride yesterday was just a fire road and nothing to write home about.
We had an unexpected dinner guest yesterday afternoon... These are just phone photos, If we'd known he was going to hang around
so long, we might have gotten a real camera. He had absolutely no fear of us at all. We were standing in the driveway. Not aggressive
to us, but apparently chased a neighbor a 1/4 mile down a trail near our house.
Juniper berries, yummm.
So long, y'all ...
