Last sunny weekend in Willamette Valley's wine country
(It was a) Glass of Joe's Secco at Joe Dobbes Wines
My neighbor's Bouvier des Flandres' 3 months old pup on the same trip:
The snowy trees make me happy. The local resort-glacier is expecting about a foot of fresh on Saturday at the summit, and about half that at the bottom of the valley run, around 6,000 vertical feet below. If I can get myself there, I'll see if I can add a few snow/skiing images to this thread!
with the storm that just came through tahoe, I wish I had a shot of that to share,
but I've been at work and 2 feet without a base isn't enough to get me to play hooky...
I was in Ventura last week for work, I didn't get out much, but one morning I managed to make it down to the beach...
I got a huge thrill this past Monday. I had contacted Al Roker several months ago and asked him to acknowledge my "child" bride's 60th birthday. Al was more than happy to oblige. Right after that Felix Baumgartner walked onto the outdoor set. I had been glued to the TV a couple of weeks ago when he broke the freefall record from 24 miles up. He and I both took up sky diving at age 16. The first of my 2000+ jumps took place seven years before he was born! He was more than willing to spend a few minutes chatting with this old timer. Life is good!
I'd definitely agree. The wife was happy to have a photo in his Halloween costume; he didn't mind it when the hood wasn't up.
