If you have a binding but no template, the simplest approach is to test screw the binding to a floorboard plank or similar, taking a couple of goes it to exactly the length you want (maybe not exactly your bsl so that your cousin can try your skis etc) then make a cardboard template as above. The floorboard method is pretty foolproof as you can test the forward pressure with your various boots before committing to holes in the ski.

Clarification: Use a scrap floorboard plank. Installing a binding onto your living room floor is may be frowned upon by landlords, wives etc.
