I was able to post some pix from my work computer this morning.
But, why the change in the picture download process in the first place???

Rossi, I think the reason for the change has something to do with the step that asks if you have the right to publish the photo. I believe that most systems like this are going to a step like that to protect themselves from copyright liability.
It hasn't bothered me, but then I'm used to computer systems changing all the time with my on line work.
If you don't have a Flash engine, this site is going to produce very diminished results. I believe the editor is almost entirely flash driven. Try Downloading this
CR
Nope, it does not load.
I've never needed Flash up till now to do everything I wanted to here @ EPIC....
The Flash Player doesn't load? Or the picture still won't load after you installed Flash?
The link he asked me to open, doesn't!
No Flash wanted here...
I can't tell you how many times I got a notice that I didn't have an up to date flash player on my system. I hit, NO on all those notices.
My browser just did an update a few days ago, which has nothing to do with EpicSki. It required that I update my flash player for the browser to work.
Sad to say, but the world is moving in that direction and a flash player will be necessary for many on line applications, like it or not, we need to go with the flow.
I clicked the link in Chrome and got:
Your Google Chrome browser already includes Adobe® Flash® Player built-in. Google Chrome will automatically update when new versions of Flash Player are available.
What happens if you use another browser than IE?

Or, get out while we can! ![]()
Try opening Internet Explorer with all add-on's disabled and see if it works.
Open the run command (Windows key plus "R" key), then type in iexplore.exe -extoff
Once IE opens with no add-ons see what happens.
Rossi, you probably have Flash, but it's probably outdated or a faked trojan. You might want to use MalWarebytes or another program to scan for malicious adware. The link I sent you to was authentic and should have worked. Flash is an integral part of the internet now, and it's not like the old ActiveX stuff that used to be a nuisance. The full featured post editor is flash driven unless you are using the BBcode editor that we still have available on the site.

how do i select that?
I go with "less is more"
don't need/want bells and whistles
Not having Flash is the problem, sez tech support.
You can select BBcode to be your default in your Profile, account details, and preferred editor (scroll down).
Based on what I hear around silicon valley, Flash is more the past than the future of the internet. Things like JavaScript, DOM and HTML 5 have largely supplanted it, in a non-proprietary way. Not to mention that Apple has been trying to eat Adobe's lunch for a while now and refuses to support Flash on iOS devices. Sometimes, Huddler's decisions make my head hurt.

This is correct, but nolo's point about the way of the future is also true in that web forums are becoming increasingly advanced so plug-ins are necessary as well until something like HTML5 is fully supported.
It's the "increasingly advanced" that is causing the problem.
It's not advanced if it no longer works. It should be robust to work with what people have, not require them to choose to update or not play.
I'm sorry that the site doesn't work without Flash, Rossi. I will ask our technology partner about the prospects for HTML5 being a driver of EpicSki's future development and respond in this thread.
In answer to xela's question, why does huddler stay with Flash, it's the penetration, baby!
Rossi, you and your photos are important to us. We'll be getting a non-Flash option for you (and the rest of the 1% of our users in your situation) in a couple of releases (approximately 4 weeks).
The July release makes the image uploading on this platform entirely dependent on a functional Flash plugin on your browser. These changes triggered a lot of concerns and comments from other sites on the Huddler platform, and Rossi is not the only individual affected. Similar threads from users unable to upload images can be found on other Huddler sites. Huddler is aware of the situation, but sees it as affecting a very small portion of the forum user community.
This was a "buggy" release with the kind of errors that got a lot of people's attention. Huddler has been working full time to make fixes and several bug fixes have already been made behind the scenes. In the interest of full disclosure, this is what was contained in the release that included the new Flash uploader:
New Image Uploader - part 1
In this release, you'll see the first steps toward our new image uploader in threads, reviews, articles, and PMs. While it doesn't yet include the ability to upload images from existing photo albums (it's coming!), we've consolidated the work flow.
Now when you click the image upload button, you will see a dialog with two upload options:
When uploading images from your computer, you can now select multiple images in the same way as you can with the uploader in the image galleries. Alternatively, you can continue using a single image URL to upload images.
Once you have selected an image to upload from either your computer or an image URL, you will see the image progress bar along with your options to embed the image into your post at varying sizes:
The default embed sizes are shown above in the screen shot. If you currently a maximum embedded image size limit configured, it will be used as the large size.
Additionally, we can configure 1-3 sizes on an individual site basis. If you're interested in offering a different set of image embed sizes, the fabulous MSPs are available to help set that up.
Social Media Sharing
Social sharing is making its debut in this release.
The 4 options for social sharing are:
Each of these is on a separate configuration so if you only want Facebook, we can do that. If you only want email, we can do that too. If you want two of the 4, we got you covered. If you want them all, more power to you and we're all about it.
Once you decide which social venues you're interested, then you have another choice. Where do you want the social sharing buttons to show up? The choices include:
As with the social venues, you can choose all of these or any sub-set.
Here's a quick look at what the buttons will look like on the various pages (displaying all 4 on all content types)...
...in forum threads
(not pictured, but the buttons appear at the bottom of the thread page too)
...in image pages
...in articles
...in reviews
A few things to keep in mind...
We're excited to get more of that social media love going and hopefully you are too.
#9890 - New site configuration available to disable the Popular Albums module on the gallery main portal page. By default, this will remain enabled.
#9416 - If users do not have permission to create new albums, but they do have permission to upload to existing albums, they will now correctly see an "Upload Photos" button on the related pages.
#9720 - Occasionally, the private messages inbox was seeing an additional # added to the end of its URL. This caused an extra hop in the browser back button in some cases. This has been resolved.
#9875 - If your site displays Facebook or Twitter icons anywhere in its header or homepage info box, we've updated those graphics to more current versions.
#9841 - Unreviewed products no longer show any rank at all. Previously, all unreviewed products would rank in a tie for last place.

Nolo and CR,
While I appreciate that thought, don't do it on my account unless the other part of the 1% want it. I see these changes as a preview of the direction EPICSKI is headed and what they think is important to their participants.
I already have other functionality issues and this one really shows me that I will be far less active here in the future. Let's just say we are growing in opposite directions.
I was trying to load a picture directly from my computer today and it wouldn't load. I'll try the same pic here and see if it works.
As you can see it loaded, but when I tried earlier today with the same system and same process, it wouldn't load. Is it possible that there is a little glitch somewhere?
Looks like they did something as I was able to post a picute today...
New release rolled out yesterday removing the Flash requirement for the image uploader.
