Mounting Squire Schizos

I am currently mounting my Squire Schizos and noticed the cable and plate system that connects the heel and toe piece pieces is not threaded. Has anyone mounted their own schizos? The threads on the screw for this piece did not match any of my taps or dies. Does anyone know know the pitch of the supplied screws? Attached is a picture of the plate that needs to be threaded.

Self tapping IIRC... Of course I could be recalling incorrectly.... But I think I am remembering right

They have very short threads so I was 50/50 on if they are self tapping. I didnt want to force any thing and ruin them.
