Ziggy's Hike on the Tahoe Rim

Here at Chez Ziggy, Ziggy has promised to host two hikes a day, so he took Philpug on a short one in the morning after his morning coffee, then got his pack ready to take the rest of his guests on a nice 6.2 Mile Hike on the Tahoe Rim Trail adjacent to Mt Rose.

Hosting Proskub and his friends, Ziggy was sure that they'd love the scenery and the waterfall on this hike.

Check out this stunning view of Lake Tahoe

Proskub's friends Sam and Maddy hadn't been to Lake Tahoe,(except when Sam came to ski during a blizzard) so this was a real treat for them

After we got a few miles in, we stopped for a water break and Ziggy took a minute to stretch and roll around a bit, but realized that it wasn't so easy getting back up when you have a pack on.

When we got the waterfall, it wasn't long until  Proskub and Sam started figuring out how they could climb the waterfall.....

Maddy needed no convincing.

Ziggy, Philpug and TC followed too, but took a slightly different route.

Sam found a nice water slide feature, and Proskub took lessons from Ziggy on how to drink from a stream.

Once Proskub and Sam got done playing around, we completed the loop.

Every once in a while Ziggy would find some shade so he could wait for us, since we were soooo much slower than he is.....he's a good host.

One small stretch of fire road on the way back.

You'd have to ask him.  I think he's counting on his beard to be the filter. biggrin.gif

Did Ziggy notice he was carrying more packs than his fellow hikers? He needs to learn to travel light!

What a great place to live. The only thing to do is wait for the snow and meanwhile enjoy the mountains in the summertime :-)

I was going to delete the duplicates, but they made me smile. biggrin.gif

And..........I assume it means you want multiple hikes with Ziggy.

Hey Ziggy nice to see you taking the humans for a walk. Did you tell Proskub to stay upstream from you when taking a drink from your stream? Sorry we didn't get to spend more time together last March but I know you are pretty busy that time of year. Instead of letting the kids post for you I really would like to see you get your own account here at Epicski. You are unbeliveably patient, charming and would add a different perspective to the forum.
