Advice on skis

Hi Henry here,

 

I am 14 and about 5 foot and about 100-110 pounds. I ride all mountain and in the park on the boxes and rails. I am an advanced skiier .I am looking at a Volkl Alley 158. I want to be able to ski everywhere and in the park coz they are twins. I also love hitting the jumps and just cruizing with my family down the groomers .I thought about going a bit longer so the skis would last me a bit longer. What do you guys think? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I'm not a twin tip "guy", but even if you outgrow those skis, they'll still work. I'd try to demo different lengths and see what works best for you NOW. You may remain the same basic size for as long as those skis last in the park. I have a friend who is 6'2" tall, weighs 280 and was just about your size until he went to college.

He skis in New Zealand on groomers and the park.

you might want to look into the ON3P Filthy Rich.  personally haven't been on it yet but i've heard great things from friends who spend a lot of time in the park.  hoping to get on a pair at some point this year.  if you are looking for a park specific ski then you probably want to check out the Line Afterbangs.  they are available in a 166 which should be perfect for you.  that being said, you are probably going to grow a lot in the next couple of years.  if you are going to spend a lot of money on brand new skis you may want to pick up something that is a bit longer so you get a few seasons out of them.
