Tragedy in the Epic community

Thread Starter

Lou Rosenfeld, long time contributor to Epicski and one of the best boot fitters in the business, tragically lost his daughter Rebecca on Wednesday when she was hit by a car while cycling with Lou.  She was killed instantly.

Words can't express the sorrow he and his wife Sandy must be feeling right now, and the thoughts off all who know Lou and his family are with him right now.  They plan to go camping for a month to adjust to the loss and find places to spread Rebecca's ashes.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, Lou and Sandy.

I am so sorry to hear of this tragic event. I don't know Lou, but I have 3 young sons and cannot imagine anything worse than losing one.

Heartfelt sorrow to Lou and his family.  Sorry just does not cover a loss like this,  We are not supposed to outlive our kids.

Lou,

While I have lost a child a couple of days after birth, I am once removed feeling what my sister felt, and what you feel, loosing her son, and best friend, after 19 years. I am sure that is the anguish you feel is on par with hers. I cannot add much more.

Devastating, truly devastating.  Like Phil, I also lost a daughter early on.  Life really sucks sometimes.  She will always be with you in spirit and waiting for you on the other side and might call you a slow poke when you finally catch up with her there.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Oh, Lou and Sandy...this is so sad and horrible.  I do know exactly how you feel, and I also know that there is little anyone can say to soften this kind of a blow.  But we do ache so much for you, with you.

I will pass on one piece that helped us when we lost our boy.  A friend who had lost his two children came by and we asked him "how do you do this?  We don't know how?"  He told us that probably no one knows how but, quoting the end of a favorite poem, he said, "When the dawn comes each morning, like it always does.  You just get up and do the best you can."

If you all ever need a visit...need to share...please call on me.  In the meantime, you'll just do the best you can.

My heart with you all.

Weems
