Premiership champions?

Now that Leeds have Fowler, when will they take the lead from Liverpool?
And when are Man U going to start their charge for the title? I reckon Sir Alex has lost the plot.

That's my 2 euros, from a Liverpool fan who has been very quiet since the early 80s!

Hey Fox, Quite funny reading this post for the first time.
One month changes a lot. No?
GREAT win for Liverpool against the dodgy reds from just outside Manchester... hehehe I'm sure you could hear the crowd choking on their prawn sandwhich's as they contemplated the trip back to London...

Yes, Tuesday night was good. I always like it when footballers beat businessmen.
I heard this morning that scum are going to sell Beckham this summer.
I need a tic-tac-toe (as the US call it, or exy-osies as we used to call it!)partner, I guess the only problem is, he would always have to be O as he is SH!TE when it comes to crosses.

But Dan, you've already lost 5 times in a row to us, so I guess by May it will be 6 or more, not 4. Can't you count?
Well, I know you can't count on your goalie, or back four, but we're going for 6 in a row!

You're expecting to meet us in the FA Cup then?

Ok, I'll give you 6. I can live with that.

More though? Barca et al will see to it that more than 6 will not happen.

I'll settle for 4 and shortly thereafter 2

Of course what will actually happen is that the Arse will have all the luck and the pool will progress no further - cue more bitter ranting from Merseyside and of course the smoggies will have no luck whatsoever against us and we'll sneak a 93rd minute winner - cue more bitter ranting from Merseyside. We'll then go on to complete another real treble - cue more bitter ranting from Merseyside.

OK, it's time to put your beer where your mouth is. Let's have a gentleman's bet.

What criteria shall we say?
I think we should just go for the basic one: Who wins the league?

Are you in London much? Until I move over, I don't know the place that well, so in the mean time we'll say the Oxygen Bar, Leicester Square (unless you have a better suggestion!)

If Manchester United win the Premiership, I'll buy you a pint.
If Liverpool win, you buy one for me.
If Arsenal win, I think we'll both need a strong drink!

I've heard that northern people are in to that sort of thing.

Do you know any good kebab shops in London village?

Change that, apart from the Sphynx in Stranmillis, do you know any good kebab shops?

I'm afraid I don't bother with London anymore. However I'll take you up on the bet - we'll just have to settle it on a slope in Austria one weekend in May. United to win the treble......

OK, let's shake on it...

Anyone else want to join in?

I'm in... United ain't winning no trebles.
.... hang on what did I just agree on?

My Dad, brothers and I supported that other (blue) team in Manchester. I haven't (dare not) looked at how there are doing. Does MCFC still need snookers?

Whoops, look like that bets gone for a burton...
There's only the Champions League and the Premiership to lose now Dan

DB - The Blues are doing OK at the moment. Currently Top of the First Division, and in a great postion to make a right horlicks of the situation. (I should know I go every week )

I think we should just stick to the Premiership!
Although, if you look at your calendar, strictly speaking Liverpool did last longer in the FA cup than MUFC! (OK, just by one day!)

OOPS! Sorry for the intrusion, gentlemen, wrong thread, sorry about that. Colonists need not post here, I see.

Mark P,

A message from me Dad

"4 - 1 .... 4 - 1 .... 4 - 1 .. 4-1 (repeat as necessary)

Come on the blues (or red and black stripes)"

LOL!
The Blues did indeed plough the Tractor boys, thus staying in the worlds greatest cup competition one round more than either Liverpool or United.
... may not get much further though. But we'll see.

Oboe, you're welcome to join in our discussion of "the Beautiful Game", also known as FOOTBALL. In the same way that there was a thread on here about Mark McGwire, whoever the feck he is.

Oh, and we call the game FOOTBALL because the principle of the game is to kick a ball with your foot, not like that American game where you primarily throw and catch the ball with your HANDS.

DB,
Pass on my congratulations to your dad. It's good to see that there is still one football team in Manchester (the other is just a business)
Can't wait till next season when there'll be the Manchester derbies again. (unless United go down!)
